Chikki supplier wants state to pay 19cr dues

Suryankanta Mahila Audyogik Sahakari Sanstha, which supplied chikki to the state for distribution to anganwadis, on Tuesday pleaded before the Bombay high court that the state be asked to release its payment of Rs 19 crore. The payment has been held up for almost five months said its counsel Venkatesh Dhond even as the state government pleader Abhinandan Vagyani said a high-level committee is now looking into all rate contract purchases, of not just chikki but across departments in the last 15 years.
