Even a month after the Centre directed all states to make audit certification of electrical wires by chartered safety engineers in every building mandatory, Maharashtra has neither issued a circular nor started the process of appointing the panels of chartered engineers. As a result, several old structures becoming potential fire hazards as old wirings and circuits remain neglected.
