Nearly a fortnight after an alleged petrol fraud was unearthed at a pump in Santacruz, the state metrology department has issued notices to Bharat Petroleum which owns the fuel-dispensing units and to the manufacturer of the fuel dispensers Gilbarco Veeder Root India Pvt Ltd. The show-cause notices seek the version of these companies in the alleged fraud in dispensing fuel, within 10 days.
