PIL against FTII strike: HC issues notice to Centre, FTII student leader

A Pune-based advocate has approached the Bombay high court seeking directions to students of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) on a protest to end their strike. The advocate has also urged the HC to ask the Union of India to take steps to end the strike and adopt a transparent policy while appointing chairpersons of such institutions. The matter was mentioned before a division bench of Justice V M Kanade and Justice Shalini Phansalkar-Joshi. The bench has issued notices to the Centre, state government and Vikas Urs, FTII Students Association.
