To beat court ban, Shirdi temple pledges 200 kg gold to PM Modi’s scheme

Shirdi temple has decided to move 200kg of its gold reserves to the government-sponsored Gold Monetisation Scheme. The glitch is that in 2012, Bombay HC had banned the temple trust from melting the gold, following a PIL that said devotees had made the offerings to Sai Baba, and not for raising money.
