Setback for CM Devendra Fadnavis in probe against NCP leaders

A year after Devendra Fadnavis granted permission to the ACB to con duct an open inquiry against NCP leaders --Ajit Pawar, Sunil Tatkare and Chhagan Bhubal, it appears that the agency has not taken the assignment seriously , leaving the CM embarrassed. As the leader of opposition, Fadnavis had demanded an ACB probe against Pawar and Tatkare for their roles in irrigation projects and Bhujbal for the alleged irregularities in Maharashtra Sadan construction.When he became the CM, the first policy decision he took was to entrust the probe to the ACB. Hema Upadhya murder case: Husband arrested, sent to police custody

Contemporary artist Chintan Upadhyay was arrested by the Kandivali police on Tuesday in connection with the murders of his estranged wife Hema Upadhyay and her lawyer Haresh Bhambhani and sent to police custody till January 1 by a Mumbai court. The bodies of Hema and Bhambhani were found packed in cardboard cartons in a nullah at Kandivali West on December 11. Source: Mumbai News
